Last Updated: 21st August 2026

Introduction

Moove Apps PTY LTD ("we", "us", "our") operates "Ride," a cycling-focused mobile and web-based application and related services (collectively, the "Services"). We respect your privacy and want you to understand how we collect, use, and share your personal information. This Privacy Policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service, which govern your use of Ride.

Moove Apps PTY LTD is the data controller for the personal information described here. Our contact details are in Contact Us at the end of this document.

By using Ride, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the Services. We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes and your continued use of Ride after such notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Information We Collect

We collect information about you, including information that directly or indirectly identifies you. The information we collect depends on how you interact with the Services and the choices you make.

  • Information You Provide: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, login credentials, and other profile information. You may also provide additional data such as your weight, bike info, profile photos, posts, comments, and ratings.
  • Activity Data: By using your device’s GPS and sensors, we collect location, speed, distance, altitude, and performance metrics related to your cycling activities. You may upload photos, videos, and related content with each activity.
  • Location Information: To provide core features like route tracking, segment leaderboards, and performance analysis, we require location access. We do not track your location when you are not actively using the Services. You can withdraw location permissions at any time through your device settings, though some features may become unavailable.
  • Contacts’ Information: If you choose to sync your device contacts or social accounts, we may access your contacts’ details to help you connect with friends and find other users on Ride.
  • Connected Devices and Apps: If you connect third-party devices (e.g., cycling computers, heart rate monitors) or apps to Ride, we receive data as authorised by you, such as heart rate, cadence, or power.
  • Health Information: We may process health-related data, such as heart rate, if you consent. This allows us to provide performance insights and training recommendations. You can withdraw this consent at any time, though past activities recorded with consent may still display historical data.
  • Payment Information: If you subscribe to premium features, your payment is processed by Apple (via App Store). We do not directly store your full payment card details.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and Improve the Services: Record and analyse your activities, generate route suggestions, leaderboards, and challenges. Use aggregated data to improve our features, performance analysis, and training recommendations.
  • Social and Community Interactions: Allow you to follow, message, like, comment on others’ activities, join groups, and participate in challenges or events.
  • Personalisation: Recommend clubs, routes, segments, or features that may interest you based on your activities and preferences.
  • Communication and Support: Contact you about account status, policy updates, new features, promotions, or respond to support requests.
  • Security and Compliance: Detect, investigate, and prevent misuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Research and Product Development: Analyse your activity and sensor data — including heart rate, where you have given consent — to develop and improve the algorithms that produce Ride's performance estimates. While we hold this data it remains linked to your account. Where we publish or share results, we do so only in aggregate form that does not identify you.

Legal Bases for Processing

Where the law requires us to have a legal basis for using your personal information — including the GDPR in the EEA and the United Kingdom, and the LGPD in Brazil — we rely on the following.

  • Run your account and provide the Services: recording and analysing activities, route suggestions, leaderboards, challenges — Performance of our contract with you
  • Social and community features: following, messaging, comments, groups — Performance of our contract with you
  • Process health data such as heart rate — Your explicit consent. You may withdraw it at any time
  • Personalisation and recommendations — Our legitimate interest in making Ride useful to you
  • Research and product development, including developing the algorithms that produce performance estimates — Our legitimate interest in improving the Services — and, where health data is involved, your explicit consent
  • Service, account and support messages — Performance of our contract with you
  • Marketing and promotional messages — Your consent, where consent is required
  • Security, fraud prevention, and enforcing our Terms — Our legitimate interest in keeping Ride safe
  • Disclosures required by law — Compliance with a legal obligation

Where we rely on a legitimate interest, we have weighed it against your rights and freedoms, and you may object at any time — see Your Legal Rights.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is open.

When you delete your account we delete the personal information associated with it, including your activities and the sensor recordings we hold for product development, unless we must keep something to comply with a legal obligation, resolve a dispute, or enforce our agreements. Where that applies we keep only what is needed for that purpose, and no longer than the law requires.

Some information runs on a different clock:

  • Content you shared publicly, and interactions others have had with it, may remain visible where removing it would alter another person's record of their own activity.
  • Backup copies persist until they are overwritten on our normal backup cycle.
  • Aggregate statistics that no longer identify you may be kept indefinitely.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for monetary gain.

  • With Other Users and the Public: Depending on your privacy settings, your profile, activities, posts, and leaderboard positions may be visible to other users or publicly.
  • With Service Providers: We engage third-party service providers for functions like hosting, analytics, payment processing, and customer support.
  • With Partners and Integrations: If you connect Ride to other apps or devices, we share the data necessary to enable those integrations at your direction.
  • For Legal and Safety Reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
  • Sharing Consumption Data with Apple: By using our app and making in-app purchases, you consent to our sharing of usage data with Apple as part of refund-request resolution.

Managing Your Privacy and Data

Privacy Controls: You can adjust who can view your profile, activities, and location details.

Notification Preferences: Control email and push notification preferences in your settings.

Access, Correction, and Deletion: You can request a copy of your personal data, correct inaccuracies, or delete your account.

Revoking Consent: If you have given consent for processing health or other sensitive information, you can withdraw it at any time.

Children’s Privacy

Ride is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Legal Rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you, and be told how we use it.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your information, and your account, subject to what we say in How Long We Keep Your Information.
  • Object to processing we base on a legitimate interest.
  • Restrict how we process your information while a dispute about it is resolved.
  • Portability — receive the personal information you gave us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and ask us to transmit it to another provider where that is technically feasible.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, including consent to process health data. Withdrawing does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew.
  • Not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal effects for you or similarly significantly affects you. We do not make decisions of that kind.

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. We respond within one month, and will tell you if we need longer. Exercising a right costs nothing.

Complaints. If you believe we have handled your information wrongly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to your data-protection supervisory authority — Regional Information below names the authority for each region.
